Christi Nogle writes in a range of genres such as psychological and supernatural horror, dark literary realism, dark science fiction, and weird fiction. She is the author of the Shirley Jackson Award nominated and Bram Stoker Award® winning first novel Beulah (Cemetery Gates Media, 2022) and the collections The Best of Our Past, the Worst of Our Future; Promise; and One Eye Opened in That Other Place (Flame Tree Press, 2023 and 2024). 

Her short stories have appeared in over fifty publications including PseudoPod, Strange Horizons, Apex Magazine, Escape Pod, Three-Lobed Burning Eye, and Dark Matter Magazine, along with anthologies such as C.M Muller’s Nightscript series, Mooncalves from NO Press, Obsolescence from Shortwave Publishing, Mixtape: 1986 from The Dread Machine, and Flame Tree’s American Gothic and Chilling Crime.

Christi loves learning and has studied visual arts as well as writing and literature. After twenty years teaching academic writing at a university, Christi moved on to spend more time focusing on her own fiction and supporting other writers in the horror and speculative writing communities. She enjoys sharing stories and critiques in various writing groups, mentoring and volunteering for writers’ organizations, teaching creative writing workshops, and learning more about editing and promotion. 

Christi is also an Associate Editor at the popular horror podcast PseudoPod, coeditor with Willow Dawn Becker of the Bram Stoker Award® nominated anthology Mother: Tales of Love and Terror from Weird Little Worlds (2022), and co-editor with Ai Jiang of Wilted Pages: An Anthology of Dark Academia (Shortwave Publishing, 2023).

She continues to write short fiction and is currently working on two new novels, as well as creating artwork both as a hobby and as a contribution to the literary communities, as in her covers for the anthologies Odd Jobs: Six Files From the Department of Inhuman Resources and Collage Macabre: An Exhibition of Art Horror.
